Rules and regulations for evaluation:

1. New Student Evaluation:

  • There is No Evaluation Test for new students registering in Preschool and Kindergarten classes.

  • All the new students aged 6 years and above are evaluated for their Tamil skill when they register in CTA or its Affiliates.

  • If your child is registering first time to CTA and is above 5 years, please provide the information about your child to help us place your child in the right grade.

  • The students will be placed in the appropriate grade level based on their evaluation test scores .

  • Students must score 80 and above to qualify for the grade.

2. Evaluation of Returning Students:

  • Returning students can take the evaluation test to skip a grade as long as they meet the minimum age requirements.

  • The student has to pass the evaluation test with a score of 80 & above to be promoted.

3. Grade Eligibility:

In order for the student to be evaluated for a grade the student has to satisfy the age requirements as listed below.

Preschool 1 - 3 Years
Preschool 2 - 4 Years
Kindergarten - 5 Years
Grade 1 - 6 Years
Grade 2 - 7 Years
Grade 3 - 8 Years
Grade 4 - 9 Years
Grade 5 - 10 Years
Grade 6 - 11 Years
Grade 7 - 12 Years
Grade 8 - 13 Years

4. Advance Placement (No advanced placement for Cupertino / Evergreen / Fremont Hopkins / Fremont Washington / Pleasanton / San Ramon branches for the year 2020-2021) :

ITA allows students who are well versed in Tamil to be evaluated for a grade higher than the normal grade eligibility.
  • Advance placement evaluation will be administered for Grade 4 to Grade 8.

  • Age eligibility will be one year lower than the normal grade eligibility.
    Grade 4 - 8 Years
    Grade 5 - 9 Years
    Grade 6 - 10 Years
    Grade 7 - 11 Years
    Grade 8 - 12 Years
  • Qualifications for returning students

    Student should have scored a minimum of 95% in their previous grade. The final report card will be reviewed for this qualification.
    Student should score a minimum of 95% in the evaluation test.
    Tests will be administered by the Executive Officer / Principal on the 3rd week of Evaluation.
  • Qualifications for new students

    Student should first clear the regular evaluation test before attending the advance placement evaluation.
    Student should have scored a minimum of 95% in their previous school. A hard copy of the transcript from the previous school is required.
    Student should score a minimum of 95% in the evaluation test.
    Tests will be administered by the Executive Officer.
